Considerations for Emergent Bilingual Students

This Academy is a general overview of the unique needs of emergent bilingual students.  

Through this academy you will explore and understand:

  • how The Dyslexia Handbook, 2021 Update addresses emergent bilingual students;
  • the process of second language acquisition;
  • the benefits of bilingualism;
  • the various types of alphabetic systems that exist around the world;
  • data gathering and formal evaluation; and
  • instructional programming for emergent bilingual students.
