A Step Toward IEP Quality and Rigor - La Grange Campus
IEPs for Students with Low Incidence Disabilities
ESC Region 13 - La Grange
6.00 CPE Credits
Free

Are your IEPs high-quality and appropriately challenging?  Do you struggle with using data sources to develop PLAAFPs?  Do your goals and objectives contain the 4 necessary elements?  Are you ready to dive into developing IEPs for students with significant cognitive disabilities that are meaningful and rigorous?  Then, this is the workshop for you!

In this full day in-person training, participants will "walk" through the IEP Quality and Rigor Rubric developed by Texas SPED Support in partnership with the Texas Education Agency (TEA).  Upon completion of this training, participants will have the opportunity to sign up for follow up coaching focused on the presented content with an ESC Region 13 Low Incidence Disabilities Specialist.

As the purpose of this training is to build knowledge around creating PLAAFPs, goals, and objectives that are high-quality and appropriately challenging, participants are encouraged to have access to one of their student's IEPs throughout this training for reflection purposes.

In this workshop, educators will:

  • Understand critical components of the IEP including: PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives and Progress Monitoring Methods.

  • Apply the Quality & Rigor Rubric to the IEP’s  PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring sections.

  • Create PLAAFPs, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods that are rigorous and of the highest quality.

***This training is In-Person at the La Grange ESC Region 13 Campus**

Follow-up coaching is available for all participants that work in a Region 13 LEA.
