Esperanza is a Spanish multisensory, structured language program for Spanish-speaking students, grades K-2. The program can be completed in one school year. The goal of the Esperanza program is to systematically and cumulatively develop a strong knowledge of the structure of the Spanish language so that the student can read, write, and spell in his primary language.
Developed by Dr. Elsa Cárdenas-Hagan, Esperanza is the world’s only Spanish Orton-Gillingham program, designed to systematically support Spanish-speaking and bilingual students identified with dyslexia.
The curriculum supports mastery in reading, writing, and spelling by addressing phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. This structured approach provides a clear path to Spanish literacy for students, offering multiple opportunities to master essential skills
