In this engaging and interactive workshop, educators, school personnel, and youth advocates will gain a deeper understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ students and youth. Together, we will explore practical strategies for creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for these individuals, including developing supportive policies and procedures, creating safe and welcoming spaces, and promoting positive and affirming language. Through discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, participants will gain tools to better support and advocate for LGBTQIA+ youth in their schools and communities.

Learning Objectives:

1. Gain a deeper understanding of the diverse identities and experiences of LGBTQIA+ students and youth.

2. Learn practical strategies for creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ youth, including developing policies and procedures.

3. Explore ways to create safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals in schools and community settings.

4. Identify and challenge common stereotypes and misconceptions about LGBTQIA+ individuals.
