Job coaching students with disabilities can be a difficult position. This session will cover the basic requirements for job coaching and techniques to use to help students become independent workers.
Participants will gain an understanding of different levels of support for students with various needs, both in the work-based learning classroom and on the job. We encourage all staff supporting students with disabilities in a work-based learning environment to take advantage of this training - CTE teachers, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and agency/community partners.
Participants will learn numerous skills associated with job coaching, including task analysis, data collection, data interpretation, skill development, workplace accommodations, teaching/coaching, and more. This session will also help participants reflect on current practices and provide ways to improve work-based learning support.
Please note that this session is taking place through an online, live broadcast via Zoom. Zoom link/information will be sent to registered attendees in advance of this session.
