Join us for our 1st Annual Science Summit!
Designed specifically for educators, this event features interactive breakout sessions that foster collaboration and idea exchange. Participants will explore innovative teaching strategies, share best practices, and engage in discussions that enhance the learning experience in science classrooms.
Theme: Harvesting Fresh Ideas for the Classroom
Strand 1. Preparing the Soil (Pre-Learning)
How do I get students actually interested in this topic?
- This strand covers how we spark curiosity, assess prior knowledge, and set the stage for a successful lesson or unit.
- The Goal: Ensuring every student is primed and ready for growth.
Strand 2. Tending the Crop (Facilitating Learning)
What instructional moves will help students grow?
- This strand focuses on the active "growth" phase- how teachers navigate the messiness of inquiry, keep students engaged, and manage the learning process in real-time. This is the heart of the classroom experience.
- The Goal: Keeping the momentum going and supporting students as they "grow" their understanding.
Strand 3. Bringing in the Larvest (Post-Learning)
The harvest is in, but will the learning last?
- This strand focuses on how students demonstrate what they've learned and how teachers "gather" that data to inform what comes next.
- The Goal: Making the learning stick so that it extends past the harvest.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with fellow educators and inspire the next generation of scientists!
