Join Region 13 ESC and the Local Mental Health Authorities throughout the region for the virtual blended course of Youth Mental Health First Aid (from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing) to learn the basic knowledge and skills of identifying and supporting students through a mental health crisis. You will also learn about substance use prevention strategies and warning signs of a student struggling suicidal thoughts. This is a proactive course that is incredibly helpful for anyone who works with students of all ages!  This course also meets the HB3 requirement for school districts.

Registration for all Mental Health First Aid courses close approximately two weeks before the class training date. This allows participants to complete the required pre-work.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Once you register for YMHFA in e-campus, your registration is not done yet!
  • Make sure you keep an eye out for an EMAIL from one of our Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) trainers the WEEK BEFORE THE COURSE, followed by an INVITATION from Connect (the YMHFA platform) to register.
  • Please accept the invitation and log in to Connect.
  • “Connect” is where you will complete the pre-work needed to attend the course online.
Emails with instructions will be coming from one of the following people: Leylee Morris or Liz Reep with Integral Care, Amy Anderson with Hill Country, or Priscilla Hernandez with Bluebonnet. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Emily Hammer at emily.hammer@esc13.txed.net if you have any questions about the process or can't find you email invitation!
