Effective assessment is a key component of unlocking the potential of clients or students who are experiencing language difficulties or delays. Delays in understanding what others say and/or sharing their thoughts may be indicative of a language disorder; however, comprehensively assessing for this is critical for examiners to provide the most understandable information to parents and teachers.
During this 90-minute presentation, participants will engage in a discussion of oral language milestones and the importance of early intervention. Participants will also learn the theoretical construct behind a battery of assessments (OWLS-II, CASL-2, and OPUS) that complement one another or that can be used individually.
Lastly, interventions are a critical component, and participants will be provided with interventions as well as learn how to design effective language interventions.
