This in-person workshop equips educators and school leaders with practical tools to make data-informed decisions within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Participants will learn how to collect, organize, and graph student data in ways that make trends easy to interpret and communicate. The session will guide participants through the creation of a decision-making rubric that provides clear, consistent criteria for determining tier movement. Using case studies and interactive practice, participants will apply their rubric to real-world scenarios to strengthen their confidence in making tier adjustments that support student growth.
By the end of the training, participants will:
- Learn effective strategies to compile and visually represent data for progress monitoring.
- Develop a tier movement rubric aligned to evidence-based MTSS practices.
- Apply the rubric to make consistent, equitable, and defensible decisions about student tier placement.
- Engage in collaborative activities that model best practices for data-based decision making.
This session is designed to build participants’ skills in using data as a powerful tool for student support, ensuring that tier decisions are both systematic and student-centered.
