This virtual training will support personnel with their understanding of State Performance Plan Indicator 13 (Secondary Transition), commonly referred to as SPPI-13. 


Participants will:

  • Learn general information and background on the State Performance Plan Indicator 13 and what it measures

  • Review state resources available that support SPPI-13 data collection to include discussion of the eight folder review questions/items

  • Understand some of the differences between the SPP Application in TEAL that was used in prior school years, and the new SPEDS Summer Submission within the TSDS for the SPPI-13 data collection 

  • Be able to identify the importance of collaboration between special education program staff and PEIMS staff as part of the SPPI-13 submission in TSDS

  • Understand the difference between roles in TSDS of the Core LEA Data Viewer, Core LEA Data Promoter, Core LEA Data Completer, and Core LEA Data Approver, as well as how to gain access to these roles in the TEA Login (TEAL)

  • Gain an understanding of the State Performance Plan Clarification Process with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) if their local education agency (LEA) certifies below 100% for SPPI-13
