In this workshop, participants will learn foundational principles of behavior which guide the understanding and determination of the functional relationships between behavior and the environment. With this knowledge, the instructor will explicitly teach participants how to write a quality Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) that can be used to develop realistic and applicable Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Additionally, participants will discuss the barriers that prohibit educators from writing meaningful FBAs and BIPs, then discuss possible solutions for creating better systems and procedures within their schools and districts that promote quality, realistic and applicable FBAs and BIPs.
