6.00 CPE Credits
$25.00
Join us for an in-depth professional development session designed to deepen educators’ understanding of the legal foundations and instructional practices essential to developing effective, standards-based IEPs for students with dyslexia.
Participants will:
- Recognize key federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance that direct IEP development and support students with dyslexia.
- Identify the critical role of the enrolled grade-level general education curriculum in shaping the SB IEP process.
- Develop comprehensive present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP) statements using multiple data sources, including baseline data for identified areas of need and the impact of dyslexia on a student’s access to and progress in the general curriculum.
- Write measurable annual goals aligned with the PLAAFP and inform the specially designed instruction (SDI) required to support student success.
- Design effective data collection methods to monitor progress on annual goals and establish systems for reporting progress to families.
By the end of this session, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to create compliant, data-driven, and instructionally meaningful IEPs that support the unique needs of students with dyslexia.
