Elementary RLA: Tiny Writers, Mighty Ideas: Cross-Curricular Writing in Action-San Marcos
ESC Region 13 - San Marcos
6.00 CPE Credits
$100.00
Young students have big ideas—and writing can be a powerful tool to help them express, process, and deepen their learning across the day. This session explores how to intentionally integrate low-stakes, meaningful writing opportunities into all content areas, building confident writers while strengthening understanding in reading, science, social studies, and beyond.   Participants will explore what writing looks like in K–2 classrooms at different developmental stages and how to support students in moving from drawing and dictation to independent written responses. Through practical examples and hands-on planning, teachers will learn how to embed writing into daily instruction without adding to their workload.   This session focuses on using writing as a tool for thinking and learning—not just as a final product. Teachers will leave with ready-to-use ideas, adaptable strategies, and classroom-friendly resources to help their “tiny writers” share mighty ideas across the curriculum.
