Transform your elementary mathematics classroom with high-impact instructional routines that promote mathematical reasoning, communication, collaboration, and problem solving. In this interactive workshop, educators serving Kindergarten through Grade 5 will experience and analyze a variety of instructional routines designed to engage students in making sense of mathematics, communicating their thinking, building conceptual understanding, and developing mathematical proficiency.
Participants will also explore the eight Mathematical Language Routines (MLRs) and discover how these research-based strategies support students in developing mathematical understanding while strengthening academic language. Through hands-on experiences and collaborative learning, teachers will learn how MLRs help students make sense of mathematical ideas, communicate their reasoning, engage in meaningful mathematical conversations, and reflect on their own thinking. Particular attention will be given to supporting multilingual learners and ensuring all students have equitable access to rigorous grade-level mathematics.
Teachers will leave equipped with practical strategies and ready-to-use routines that amplify student voice, promote mathematical discourse, and create inclusive learning environments where all students can engage deeply with mathematics.

Participants will:
• Experience instructional routines that promote problem solving, mathematical reasoning, communication, collaboration, and conceptual understanding aligned to the TEKS Mathematical Process Standards.
• Explore the eight Mathematical Language Routines (MLRs) and their role in supporting mathematical sense-making, academic language development, discourse, and student reflection.
• Analyze how instructional routines and MLRs can increase student engagement, participation, and access to rigorous mathematics learning for all students, including multilingual learners.
• Examine opportunities to integrate instructional routines and MLRs within K–5 mathematics content standards to support students in representing, explaining, and justifying mathematical thinking.
• Develop implementation plans for incorporating instructional routines and MLRs into daily K–5 mathematics instruction to strengthen student reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
