Unlocking the power of Parent and Family Engagement: A comprehensive guide for ESSA compliance. The objectives of PFE (SY 25-26) Module 3 - Building Capacity within Parent and Family Engagement are:
1. Identify capacity building requirements under ESSA.
2. Understand the guiding principles of capacity building.
3. Recognize the links between PFE policy and capacity building efforts.
4. Identify potential parent training opportunities.
5. Understand parental rights and Best Practice Expo opportunities.
6. Explore new resources focused on PFE.
Consider being prepared to participate in the discussion of the following questions:

What parent training has your LEA provided in the past?

How successful were they?

How can we make them more effective or improve them?

How can we expand upon our capacity building?

Do our capacity building efforts meet statute requirements?
Recommendation for who should attend from your LEA: We recommend you have a team attendance of the key stakeholders involved in Parent and Family Engagement at both your LEA/district level and your campus levels. This could include your federal programs staff, your central office PFE staff, your principals, your campus level PFE Staff, any parent liaisons, truancy coordinators, counselors, and/or a superintendent responsible for approving and authorizing your PFE policies and procedures.
