Join The Matt Harbin Foundation for a day focused on connection, prevention, and resilience. Participants will earn five hours of CPE while completing QPR suicide prevention certification, exploring art-based strategies for reaching students who struggle to communicate what they are feeling, and practicing evidence-based techniques for managing stress and regulating emotions. CEs are available for licensed mental health professionals. The summit includes a facilitated lunch and time to exchange practical ideas with educators, counselors, and administrators from across Central Texas. Participants are also invited to stay for the Lil Smokie Invitational and learn more about the Foundation’s work with schools.
Spend a Friday with The Matt Harbin Foundation and leave with five hours of CPE and tools you can use Monday morning. The Educator Summit at the Lil Smokie Invitational brings educators, counselors, coaches, and administrators together for practical, research-informed training, headlined by neuroscientist and engineer Dorsey Standish. Her keynote covers how to recognize burnout early and interrupt it before it becomes exhaustion, cynicism, or another resignation letter. The day also includes QPR suicide prevention certification, trauma-informed art and expressive approaches for students who can't put it into words, and how to support students whose sense of self is tied to their sport. A facilitated lunch gives you time to trade strategies with colleagues from across Central Texas and tell us what your campus actually needs.Registration and lunch are free, and you're invited to stay for the Invitational afterward to meet the team and see the programs we fund and help schools put in place.9 am to 2 pm, Friday, November 6th.
