Alternative Energy seeks to improve Texas students' understanding of energy, environmental issues and increase their awareness of alternative fuels in their communities. This program begins by introducing physical and chemical principles of energy and fuels, then proceeds to investigations of the nature and extent of energy resources, the economic and environmental effects of energy use, alternative energy technologiesc, global climate change, health and safety. all twenty-five lessons are correlated to TEKS and TAKS for eighth grade and IPC.
The State Energy Condervation Office will reimburse each participant's district $75 to help offset substitute costs.
