Assessment in Elementary Science
Region XIII Education Service Center
6.00 CPE Credits
$70.00

This workshop is designed so that participants experience a variety of assessment techniques in the elementary science classroom.   It is often difficult to merge the world of performance and rubric-based tasks with the world of needed numeric grades.  Participants will learn about a variety of assessment techniques and their purposes as well as have opportunity to collaborate and design usable and practical tools customized for their own classroom use.

This workshop is timed so that educators have the opportunity to implement and practice chosen techniques through the end of this school year in order to appropriately plan and prep for a smooth implementation in following years.

This session is Building Professional Development.

  • Building Professional Development extends the learning experiences are designed to build upon core knowledge and practices experienced teachers have.  Workshops continue to focus on high quality Tier 1 instruction and some Tier 2 intervention with supporting instructional strategies and may connect disciplines and the instructional strategies that support this integration.
  •  Building Professional Development ideally should extend the knowledge built in Core Workshops, allowing teachers to further their skills in a particular professional development pathway.
