The purpose of this presentation is to help speech-language pathologists establish, develop and practice higher standards of professional conduct. As a result of this presentation, the participant will be able to identify the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Principles of Ethics. As a result of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
- Identify the ASHA Principles of Ethics and Texas State Board of Examiners licensure rules with reference to Chapter 741, Subchapter D, Code of Ethics.
- Discuss the legal and ethical considerations that result from the Code of Ethics in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Discuss and describe case studies with regard to analytical and critical thinking skills in resolving hypothetical ethical dilemmas.
This course will satisfy the 2-hour Continuing Education Ethics requirement for speech-language pathologists and has been approved for 2 clock hours of continuing education credit by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA). TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
