This training will prepare participants to administer and interpret the Gray Oral Reading Tests- 5th Edition (GORT-5). With standardized administration, this instrument may be used by teachers, specialists and evaluation personnel as part of the process for identifying reading disabilities such as dyslexia. Additionally, participants will receive training in the administration and interpretation of informal fluency assessments including: timed fluency readings, diagnostic analysis and strategies.
Additional workshops are recommended through Region 13 regarding procedures for identifying students with dyslexia including the Texas Dyslexia Identification Academy.
Note: Formal test instrument trainings such as the GORT-V are reserved for current school personnel due to the examiner qualifications from the test publisher.
