In this course we will learn strategies, techniques, and skills to facilitate strong collaborations in IEP meetings using trauma-sensitive practices. Our focus is the process we use to conduct IEP meetings, and we will not cover how to write IEP goals.
We begin the journey with the end in mind: the overarching interest of caring for the student. We honor the humanity of all participants by consciously communicating the worth and potential of each person. The goal of the trauma-sensitive IEP is to ameliorate the stress inherent in the ARD process.
This course will address this goal by exploring communication, emotional well-being, physical well-being, and maintaining cultural responsiveness.
