The Multilingual SPED Evaluation and Collaboration Network Meetings are designed for monolingual and bilingual Educational Diagnosticians and School Psychologists who evaluate multilingual students for Special Education.
The purpose of the meetings are to discuss current issues concerning the evaluation of students for Special Education, as well as appropriate cultural and linguistic practices in assessment.
The format of the meeting is collaborative and unstructured. Participants are encouraged to bring topics for discussion, case studies, and current research to discuss. This style of meeting is referred to as an "un-meeting". Content and discussion is driven by the participants.
The MECN meetings will be live, online broadcasts (Zoom). A Zoom link will be sent to participants prior to first meeting (same link will be used for all three meetings). The MECN meetings are not recorded.
