In this series, Topics in Social Studies, Region XIII presents a series of workshops and lectures on topics of interest to social studies teachers. Watch for new sessions to be added throughout the year. Each is 6 hours long; each qualifies for credit toward "Highly Qualified" status.

What is migration? What inspires people to move from one place to another around the world? How do we adapt to life in new geographic conditions? And how do we transform geography in return? Most important, how can we talk about these concepts in the classroom? Join Hemispheres for a day-long session where we'll explore these topics and more. Attendees will leave with classroom-ready curriculum materials and creative ideas for helping students to understand diverse parts of the world.
