Data Rules

Gathering data is one of the most crucial components of the Impact Cycle. Data allow teachers and coaches to establish a clear picture of current reality and measure the effectiveness of the strategies being implemented. However, gathering useful data can be tricky. In this workshop participants will navigate the set of rules below to help coaches and teachers get the most out of their data.
1. Data should be chosen by the teacher.
2. Data should be objective.
3. Data should be gathered frequently.
4. Data should be valid.
5. Data should be reliable and mutually understood.
6. Data should be gathered by teachers when possible.
Participants will receive a copy of the Data Rules book to support their learning.
This workshop is part of the Instructional Coach 5 Day Institute with Jim Knight.
All five sessions are available in person and virtually, and may be taken individually or as the institute as listed below:
