Achieving Grant Management Success: Strategies for Updating and Enhancing Your Written Procedures
Join us for an interactive working session to solidify your understanding of the EDGAR and UGG changes that go into effect for most federal grants on Jul 1, 2025. During this session we will do a deep dive into those changes that affect your required, written federal grant management policies and procedures. We will guide you through the process of updating or enhancing your current policies and procedures based on the latest EDGAR changes. The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session attended by Cory Green, TEA Associate Commissioner and Chief Grants Officer and Nick Davis, Chief of Staff for Grant Compliance and Administration Department.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the changes to EDGAR and the UGG that impact your current grant policies and procedures and what updates might be necessary.
- Collaborate with your team to create and/or revise your current grant policies and procedures.
- Increase efficiency and compliance by developing training plans for your updated procedures.
- Receive answers to your pressing or nuanced EDGAR and UGG questions.

Please bring your laptop or portable device to actively participate in this working session, as we work towards updated, required state and federal grants financial policies and procedures. This workshop is designed for a team effort, so please have key decision makers from your LEA in attendance to make the most of this opportunity.
Please be prepared to participate in this working session by:
• Knowing where and how to access your local policies and procedures for your State and Federal Grants (EDGAR) Manual
• Having access to your current written grant and financial procedures
• Having key decision making team members in attendance together at this meeting
• Consider bringing a portable monitor for shared team viewing of documents as you actively work together
• Having any pressing or nuanced EDGAR and UGG questions ready to ask of TEA
Recommendation for who should attend from your LEA: We recommend you have a team attendance of the key stakeholders involved in the financial and grant management requirements. This could include your federal program/grant manager/director, your business manager or CFO, your accounting personnel, your procurement or purchasing staff, and/or a superintendent responsible for approving and authorizing these activities.
